This listing includes 75mm bird control netting for the control of gulls and other similar sized pest species.
75mm bird netting is specific to certain types of bird species including gulls and will not be suitable for other smaller birds including pigeons.
To prevent gulls from landing on installed systems it is important that the netting is installed without sag or movement and at least 0.5m from any surfaces, however where possible we would recommend 1m plus.
Birdgo bird netting has been specifically designed to stop birds from gaining access to prohibited locations where they may become pests. Such locations including building facades, internal light wells, rooftop plant rooms and any other locations that birds can perch, roost or nest.
Netting is suitable for preventing birds to larger open areas or where other types of bird control measures may not be economical to undertake. When installed correctly, bird netting can blend into the background and when visible aesthetically pleasing.
Use the following guide to select which net is most suitable for the target pest bird:
We supply netting in 3 colours: Black, Stone and White (aka translucent)
Black is our most popular colour as this will normally blend into the majority of environments. We all sell stone which is an excellent choice for both sandstone facades, tree canopies, and woodland settings. White netting is recommended for use against lighter surfaces or when installed over visible rooftops.
Birdgo bird nets are manufactured in the United Kingdom from polyethene which does not absorb water, does not stretch and is chemically inert. All Birdgo nets are UV light stabilised and have been designed to last more than 10 years.
Our bird nets are constructed from mono-filaments designed specifically for bird net systems.
For a successful long-term prevention control system, it is important that any bird netting installation is carried out correctly and specific to the target bird. Installing the wrong type of netting can cause unnecessary distress to the bird.
While the installation of the net will vary depending on the prevention area and bird controlled, most installs will require a simple bird frame system for the netting to be attached correctly. A bird frame system is a length of wire that has been placed under tension using a device called a barrel strainer, creating an easy way to attach netting to prevent sag.
Fixing points for the wireframe is extremely important for the overall strength and success of the system. Strong ‘corner’ fixings should be spaced at 5m intervals through the install and all inward corners and where additional support wires may be required. Intermediate fixings should be installed at specific points between the corner fixings. For 50mm & 75mm netting this should be no greater than 1m, for starlings, 0.5m and sparrows 0.3m.
Weather is a concern when installing netting and should be taken into consideration for when installing nets. Whilst netting does not absorb water, it is common for water and snow to weigh down any netting installs. Wind can also be an issue, especially for installed systems on rooftops and other exposed environments. Installers should always design their frame system to handle these additional forces.
