Clothes moth pheromone is a specific sex lure to attract male moths, usually towards a sticky adhesive pad; this helps break the insect cycle by removing the male adult from the breeding area.
Pheromones can control emerging and low-population infestations however it is unlikely to control more significant or established issues. Pheromones are best used as a locating device to find the main epicentre of an infestation and then later to monitor the success of treatments.
It is important to note that pheromones are specific to species and a pheromone will not work against all species of the clothes moth. As a general rule pheromones are mainly used for Tineola bisselliella; commonly known as the common clothes moth or webbing moth. If you are unsure we offer a free insect identification service.
