Mouse bait boxes are explicitly used to keep rodenticide poisons away from non-target animals and children; the boxes comply with the latest regulations for amateur rodenticide use where users must use a tamper-resistant box. Mouse boxes are suitable for holding the entire range of mouse baits including pasta sachets, blocks and loose wheat; they are not however suitable for use with mouse traps.
Plastic mouse bait boxes comply with the tamper-resistant and require a simple yet effective key to access, they are however not designed to hold up against attack from a determined pet or child; for this reason, they should still be kept within areas away from direct access.
Cardboard boxes are not tamper-resistant and technically are for professional use only; these boxes are an excellent method of loose bait placement within confined locations such as under floors, walls or attics; they however are not suitable for placement around non-target animals.
