Beetle Control

This is a universal category to cover most species of beetles that are considered a pest within the UK. Where necessary we have specific categories for beetles that are often commonly found within properties.

Most problematic beetles that are found in large populations within the UK are generally associated with food and hence are labelled as stored insect pest; they commonly infest open and out-of-date products or spilt waste that remains stagnant and quickly get infested by the larvae and adult form of the beetle. Common beetles in this group include the biscuit beetle, flour beetle and larder beetle.

Most products are universal in their control and insecticides often show great results even with simple and indirect treatments; as with most pest control treatments its essential to highlight the initial cause and then when identified removed it to prevent ongoing control – not removing the source of infestation will only ever result in short term controls which often leaves the user disappointment in the treatment (and product!).

Treatments will vary depending on the location of the activity. Surface sprays with insecticide or a non-toxic alternative should be applied directly to the beetles and areas that have shown activity; users are recommended to carry out a preventative application to the surrounding areas. Powders are excellent for tight and uninhabited areas as well as cracks and crevices into walls.
