Bromadiolone is a second-generation rodenticide designed to control rats and mice. This product is a multi-feed meaning that the target rodent must consume more than 1 feed for the product to work; this results in an overall more considerable success of the treatment as rodents will not associate any illness with the food that they are consuming.
Bromadiolone targets both rats and mice however it has been documented that this is a particularly good rodenticide against rats; this will kill mice however using the difenacoum alternatives will likely provide better results.
It’s important to note that in the UK pockets of resistance against bromadiolone and difenacoum have been recorded; whilst we recommend using these poisons initially if you are already in an area with a known resistance population we recommend using the brodifacoum alternative; a single feed rodenticide. If you are unsure if you are in an area of resistance, a handy map can be viewed here.
All rodenticides must be used within tamper-resistant boxes.
Rodenticide baits are generally available in blocks, wheat or pasta. As a rough rule, we recommend using blocks for external baiting or placement within damp environments, pasta for internal baiting around a kitchen or within a city or town building and wheat for all countryside control or any area with signs of a heavy infestation.
